Frequently Asked Questions
-
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, or simply feel that something isn't quite right. Therapy provides a safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss what brings you to therapy. We will explore your goals, answer any questions you may have, and consider how we might work together moving forward.
-
Therapy sessions last 60 minutes and typically take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis, although this can be discussed according to your needs.
-
Yes. I offer a free 20-minute introduction call. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and explore whether therapy with me feels like the right fit for you. Please book via Schedule page or contact me on email: therapywithelle@outlook.com

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. What you discuss in sessions will remain private, except in rare circumstances where there is a legal or ethical obligation to share information, such as concerns about serious harm to yourself or others. This will be discussed with you at the outset of therapy.
-
There is no fixed number of sessions. Some clients attend therapy for a short period to address a specific issue, while others choose longer-term support. We will regularly review your progress and work at a pace that feels right for you.
-
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, please provide as much notice as possible. Details of my cancellation policy will be discussed before we begin working together.
